Incidentally, the title of Zacharias's book is taken from Shelley's poem Ozymandias, in which a statue of a great king is described. The statue is fallen and broken, and its face is the shattered visage, suggestive, according to Zacharias, of the fallen greatness of atheism. The title of my review is, too, taken from that poem. a. Directly referencing the events of the original series, The Prisoner: Shattered Visage shows us one possible way that the show could have ended; new characters and government forces play shadow games with The Village as the ultimate prize, even while the show’s classic rivalry, Number Two vs. Number Six, concludes as well.
